Today I joined a host of other St Albans Bloggers at #Blogitforbabies - the brainchild of Annie from Mammasaurus, who is travelling around the country this week aiming to raise money for Save the Children's Build it for Babies campaign. Access to basic healthcare in Bangladesh is limited and so the Build it for Babies Campaign aims to raise £1 million to build and equip seven life saving health centres in Bangladesh. Annie hopes to assist Save the Children by raising funds and awareness for #Blogitforbabies and so she has enlisted the help of bloggers across the country.
Tuesday was the turn of St Albans to play host to Mammasaurus. Local Bloggers Helen from Actually Mummy and Lisa from Mummy Whisperer did a sterling job organising a great event with the help of others. Many more local bloggers turned out to have fun and help Annie with her fundraising efforts.
To kick of the morning, the lovely Abigail from Rock Choir got us going with a rendition of the Rock Choir classic, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". After 45 minutes, we were all professionals, adding three part harmonies, arm actions and dance moves to the mix. It was so much fun and took me straight back to choir during my school days. I know I will have the song in my head for quite a while! Everyone was absolutely fabulous and it was definitely a fabulous way to raise money for charity!!
After this was a chance to buy some yummy cupcakes and other treats to support Blog it for Babies. Local bloggers were on hand to offer blogging tips and there was also a raffle with support from local businesses.
Although I had to take a rain check on the afternoon, apparently there was then dancing from Justin Bieber and some ironing for charity going on!
All in all it was a lovely day and well done to Annie who is going around the country and everyone who is organising events. I can't wait to see the Rock Choir Vid and the Bieber pics!
#Blogitforbabies is off to Birmingham on Wednesday and could be coming to a town near you this week too! See the website for more details . Here is a list of what #blogitforbabies is hoping to raise money to buy. Here are some more pictures of the event too.
Thanks for visiting St Albans Mammasaurus and good luck with the rest of your tour!!!
